A weekend escapade to Sik, Kedah

A beautiful Sunday morning, exactly 四 weeks ago.. on 3rd August, 2014, woke up to a day with so much of enthusiasm.
A person who is always eager to visit new places....

Spontaneously, accept the invitation from a just-got-to-know friend, for a day trip to visit Kedah together with 三 other person,

Let me introduce...

From left to right: Jeff, Kazy, Lee Chin, myself and Bee Chin.

Our 第一个 place to visit : Beris Lake Vineyard.

Upon arrival, the weather was fine..welcomed by the morning sun. There weren't many people around, just a few of us. Overlooking from the Vineyard was the Beris Lake (I supposed) and the highway.

More information:-

Entrance fee per adult is RM6 and we are allowed to self harvest the grapes in the vineyard for RM50/kg.

Our 第 二个 place to visit : Wat Charok Padang

Known as the Glass Bottles Temple, It is a Buddhist temple in Sik, Kedah where most of the buiding materials are inclusive of glass bottles, mainly recycled beer bottles which are green and brown colours. This temple is inspired by a temple in Thailand called the Temple of Million Bottles.
A shrine with the roof made of recycled bottles, with Buddha statue in it.

Closer look at the roof.

Each bell rang symbolizes a prayer/blessings.

Our 第 三个 place to visit, and also the last : Gunung Jerai Resort

Journey to the Jerai Hill Resort took us around an hour to reach the foothill which is situated in the districts of Yan, another township in Kedah. Known as the highest peak in Kedah, with the height of 986 metres.

Approaching noon, the skies appeared to be gloomy with some drizzles appeared on Kazy's "baby", all the way up the 12km route to the peak of Jerai Hill. Everyone's feeling anxious about breath taking scenery and also the cold weather after a long humid morning...Not to forget long awaited lunch! Everyone's hungry by that time~

Bee Chin's Jumbo Sausage~

Kazy's Chicken Chop

Someone to pose for Uncle Jeff XD.
The power of photography, longer legs please!
We're not so lucky as it rains heavily, but we're lucky that the rain stops right after we 'fueled' ourselves. Enjoy our meal listening to the raindrops.. - The song 听下雨的声音 appeared in my mind.
Colourful hanging flowers at the verandah of Restaurant Puncak Kedah.
Lovin' the raindrops. Got feel~

It will be freezing cold for anyone to swim there isn't?

It was a very fun one day trip with three new friends ~ Special thanks to Jeff for the invitation!

This place is really recommended for anyone who's planning for a short escapade, with no pollutions and lots of noises! Relax. Suitable for couple to come here for the enjoyment of some romantic moments.

If there can be any chances to camp, barbecue or overnight there, it would be even more fun!
